Can I touch your beard? Please!!

While volunteering at the sweat check station at the Brazen Lake Chabot 5k, 10k, Half-marathon event, a runner came over to collect her bag. She completed her half marathon, and as with any other runner, I just striked a conversation with her as well.

We were talking about the running, and trail runs, muddy trails, injuries, and stretching exercises.

The women kept staring at my beard while I was talking to her, and she was so much eager to touch it, that she actually moved her hand over my beard, and her fingers through the curls in the beard. I was feeling shy, honestly, as I saw few people staring at me.. :).. lolz!!!

We had a good chat later, and she thanked me for the sandwich I gave her, which was meant only for the volunteers.

So this was a funny encounter with my beard...

My 27th year

Started the day with a bad stomach!! lolz!! yes the aftermath of spicy Indian dinner on christmas..
Given that I woke up late, I was contemplating on the thought of running to PaloAlto or to run to Fremont, which is a 6 hr run from San Jose...

Settled down for University Ave, Palo Alto. Mapped the route on iphone, and started off well. And as I said before, the spice in the food was spicing up my run. Started walking after about 5 miles of run, inorder to control the stomach disorder. Walked for a mile or so looking around for Starbucks. Found one and ah!!... answered the call of nature.. ;)..

took a hot latte, and on my way again, keeping a slow pace as my left knee was calling out. Man!! it was a serious pain, making me think that I should even drop the idea of completing the run to Palo Alto.

But I had read the book 'Confessions of an all night runner'
“Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must, just never give up!”

This would have been a 2:30 to 2:45 hour run, had it not been for my bad knee :(. But had to give myself a bDay gift, honestly I realized this after completing the run, and relaxing at the Starbucks.

To add, this was inspired by one of the blog posts by Dean Karnezie, UltraMarathon, endurance runner. RUNABOUT

neways HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :)....

My First Illegality in US

Drive to Kings & Sequoia National park, could have been exciting had we not plucked those peaches illegally from the peach orchid.
Sunil was on the drivers seat, and I was quite excited to see the peach orchard on our way to the National park.
I was asking him to stop by the orchiard and let me steal some peaches. The fear was from the dogs or those electrical fencing.

However, the anxiety of plucking the fruit from the trees, and eating them fresh was so irresistible, that finally Sunil pulled off on the highway. He kept the engine on as I got off the car, and went to pluck the peaches.

God, the orchard looked so beautiful, trees bearing fruits. Frankly, I saw an orchard first time :).

Plucked around four peaches, ran towards the car, and sped off, fearing that a caretaker might be behind us.

But those peaches were not ripe :) ha ha ha!!!!
